Lady Gaga joins the BP Boycott
Jasmine Belassie :: Monday, June 28th, 2010 5:45 pm
Musicians such as Megadeath, Slightly Stoopid and Anthrax are joining forces (coming soon to a Marvel comic near you) to form a BP boycott, and Lady Gaga is apparently leading the pack.
Sure, there are some less-than-glamorous bands participating in the boycott, but apparently even the B-listers are still big enough to tour in tour buses. According to CNN, an “estimated 100 buses, vehicles and trucks belonging to committed musicians” will be traveling without BP fuel this summer.
CNN also reports that these bands are leading “the way by turning their summer tours into BP-free odysseys”. ‘Odysseys’ would not have been my word of choice but it appears my music preference is tame and far more prosaic than CNN’s. It seems I am old before my time.
Korn and Backstreet Boys also feature on this burgeoning list, so at least teenagers of the ’90s (Yay, I am in this group too) are fully represented. Lady Gaga sits on top of this pile like a little red cherry. Let’s hope that Gaga can entice some of her famous friends to vamp this boycott up. We hear Madonna is looking for a new project/look.
BP does not own any of their gas stations. that got outta that business years ago - they are all privately owned so boycotting the gas stations actually only hurts the small business owners who run the gas station and have nothing to do with the spill.

This lady is a fucking moron. Guess what? Even if you don’t get your gas from BP, you’re still using fuel! You aren’t hurting BP by doing this, just small business owners who where unfortunate enough to have bought into the wrong franchise gas station chain at the wrong time. If anything, she (as well as the rest of these dumb ass bands. Scott Ian WTF are you doing, man?!?!!?!) are helping BP out by plastering their name all over the damn place as is the rest of the media, and as I am sure as everyone knows in the entertainment business knows, there is no such thing as bad publicity. Point is: If you really care about what is happening then you will make it a point to find start using alternative energy sources regardless of how inconvenient it is for you and your tour. But don’t go around trying to make it seem like you’re some damn hero, because you aren’t making a DAMN difference. Go clean a fucking pelican or something.
PS
Yes I drive my car everywhere
No, I’m not going to stop using it
But I’m not going around boycotting single BP station in sight
I know you’re mad America, but lets get our priorities straight and realize that WE are all still collectively the damn problem.
