Kelsey Grammer & The Right Network: Let The Slander Begin
Nick Nicoludis :: Tuesday, April 20th, 2010 4:00 pm
Major media too liberal for you? Fox News not have enough Obama bashing or staunch right-wing banter? Well, Kelsey Grammer has the solution: Right Network. The website, soon to become TV channel (most likely to be hosted on-demand or on mobile phones) boasts its ‘for the people’ stance, which really means it’s for people who even Dick Cheney would say are taking neo-conservatisim a little too far. The TV channel/website clearly tries to align itself with the sentiments of Tea Partiers across America, and Kelsey Grammer within the promo video (view after the jump) catalogs a confusing and seemingly random list of “things that just aren’t right” according to the “pro-America”, “pro-military” network.
The promo video is somewhat like Kelsey Grammer participating in the airing of grievances segment of Festivus. He lists ridiculous things he doesn’t like, and political stances that reflect many of the issues the Tea Party constantly supports. Some of the no-no’s include: “big government”, “group hugs”, “grape flavored vodka”, “bailouts for billionaires”, “shamwow”, “debt”…etc.
Though the Right Network does not explicitly say that its programming is geared towards ultra conservative Americans, their political leanings are pretty obvious. I mean, is Right Network not apparent enough? (too easy?) It almost goes without saying that they want to bolster the opinions of Americans who are not satisfied with today’s government, and want some kind of drastic change. All the shows are pretty transparent when it comes to deciphering their political undertones.
A comedy show, called “Evan Sayet’s Right 2 Laugh” disingenuously boasts that it “proves funny people and funny things come from both sides of the aisle.” But when you watch the trailer clip, all the jokes are Obama cracks, anti-abortion bits and tasteless illegal immigrant bashings. One thing is for sure, that this show is neither funny, nor does it give perspectives from “both sides of the aisle”…unless that aisle runs between a Baptist Church and the RNC headquarters.
It’s no surprise that someone out there with tons of money would create a TV channel such as this one. Tea Baggers are gaining more and more attention everyday thanks to racist/homophobic rants and Sarah Palin and peoples paranoia/fear of big government. There is a growing fascination with the new political party, and people across the country are trying to figure out what they stand for, and why they bring guns everywhere. Right Network may by launching this summer, but biased news sources and terrible television programming have been around for years. Maybe I can treat it like an obnoxious bully; if you ignore them, they’ll go away.
Dearest Nick,
may I first congratulate you on your facile use of the progressive lexicon. Well done. Both Saul Alinsky and Karl Marx would applaud.
Your Rant (Article)
“It almost goes without saying that they want to bolster the opinions of Americans who are not satisfied with today’s government, and want some kind of drastic change”
Yes. They want the constitution to be honored, as opposed yourself and to the current administsration.
“It’s no surprise that someone out there with tons of money would create a TV channel such as this one.”
It appears you believe that only George Sauros and the Republic destroying groups which he funds have such prerogative.
“Tea Baggers are gaining more and more attention everyday thanks to racist/homophobic rants and Sarah Palin and peoples paranoia/fear of big government.”
This one, is such a masterpiece of stupidity and pandering that a critique is next to impossibele, but I will attempt it. Tea Baggers (and I am not one) are gaining more attention day by day because of smear and buzzword assassination attempts such as yours. When generalities spoken only to disrupt honest consideration of events permeate a piece like yours, it is already discredited by its own structure.
You should borrrow someone’s dictionary or thesaurus and look up “paranoia”. Borrow some university books, if you know anyone who attended university, and have them read to you comments related to the basic fear of big government that founded this nation.
“and why they bring guns everywhere”
A blantant lie and a discredit to journalism. However, I have mistakenly credited you with the appelation “journalist”, since one such does his research and is loathe to be false.
Please do continue your puerile dialogues. I shall share them with thoughtful individuals and chuckle at the damage you do, while to whom you do it, continues to mystify you.

“Tea Baggers are gaining more and more attention everyday thanks to racist/homophobic rants and Sarah Palin and peoples paranoia/fear of big government.” I am not paranoid. But I do fear BIG Government.
That is not what this country was founded on. That is not what makes this country great. Why in the world would any free person WANT a government to control more and more aspects of their life?
Also, please SOMEONE give me an example of a racist rant in this venue….the only racist type of confrontation I’ve seen is the big bad SEIU guys beating that guy who was handing out “don’t tread on me” flags.
To disregard and put down people who are worried about their AND YOUR freedoms is downright ignorant, and by the way many of those so called “tea baggers” fought for the freedom of this country, so you are being one unAmerican, unappreciative, “keep-race- alive” spoiled brat. Your article shows that Yes, you have let the slander begin, you are the one doing it.

Ole Byron Dade is so certain of himself. This “channel” will fail. It will be quite enjoyable to watch these malcontents fail. Better yet, each time you point out their advanced states of idiocy, they will only be equipped to attack Obama. And if you didn’t vote for Obama, aren’t a democrat, then they will simply still attack by claiming you are defending Obama. This is because they are too stupid to move beyond their very myopic political nonsense. Good thing they are the political majority now, right?
Byron Dade, take a valium and shut up.

Byron,
Thank you for your poignant critique. I do believe i will continue to write more puerile rants about this or that. I have no particular attachment to Karl Marx, but Saul did some great grass roots stuff though, right? I don’t know that I’ve claimed myself to be a “journalist.” Merely writing out my own opinions on today’s news. I’m not telling everyone that absolutely everything I write is a complete truth, rather one view point on a subject. I do want to point that I do include fact within my pieces. I’m sorry you are so sore about this piece. I h*** you keep reading, and maybe I’ll write one you enjoy.

Gee, just what the world needs…..yet another right wing media outlet. I guess, Hannity, Limbaugh, Savage, Malkin, Coulter, Cavuto, O’Reilly, Beck, Palin and all the rest just weren’t cutting it for the hardcore wingnuts. Thanks Kelsey! Guess the couple of truckloads of coke you snorted really did do some permanent damage.
