Everyone knows that annoying breed of girl who will designate corresponding Sex and the City characters to her friends. “I’m a Carrie, and Mitzi’s a Samantha,” and so on and barf and so forth. My friends and I never did this. Instead, in a similarly annoying but slightly more elderly-inspired way, we picked which Golden Girl was most like each of us. Guru of Gang Starr RIP

According to allhiphop.com, legendary hip-hop star Guru of Gang Starr has died after a long battle with cancer. Guru, whose real name is Keith Alam, was rushed to hospital in February after suffering a cardiac arrest. He soon fell into a coma and underwent emergency surgery, but details of his illness were not fully published. MORE »

RIP Devon Clifford (You Say Party! We Say Die!)

Devon Clifford, drummer with You Say Party! We Say Die! died on Sunday morning following his collapse onstage Friday night at the band’s gig in Vancouver. According to Spinner “Clifford reportedly suffered a brain hemorrhage and after having emergency neurosurgery at 3Am, he was on full life support for about a day.” Clifford was thirty years of age.

Packager of Punk, Malcolm McLaren Dead at age 64

Malcolm McLaren, former manager of the Sex Pistols and punk impresario, passed away this morning at age 64. McLaren died from complications from cancer, which he had been battling for years, at a New York area hospital. MORE »
