Megan Fox Engaged to David Silver from 90210; No Word on Whether the Dude from Peach Pit is on Guest List
Elisabeth Dickson :: Thursday, June 17th, 2010 2:04 pm
Newser reports that actor Brian Austin Green (David Silver, ‘90210’) proposed to his long-time girlfriend Megan Fox (Hot Chick who Talks about her Poops, “Esquire”) at the Four Seasons Hulalai Hotel in Hawaii on June 1.
Although Fox has not yet released any information about her impending nuptials, D&T would like to alleviate the stress of wedding planning by offering her a few helpful suggestions for these upcoming hectic months. The following is a vision (a fantasia, if you will) of the Fox-Austin Green wedding ceremony (heretofore referred to as the Faustin-Green nuptials): MORE »

Mind Control: Hidden Pervy Messaging in Movies
Carmel Lobello :: Monday, June 14th, 2010 2:00 pm
Subliminal messaging in movies isn’t always a diabolical plot intended to brainwash you into forking all your cash over to evil corporations. Sometimes it’s actually a diabolical plot to get you naked. Whether the creepy hidden images are a result of editing mistakes, purposeful manipulation, or the workings of a pervy child actor (see example 1), they’re always funny to uncover. To start your week off right, we’ve compiled a list of both famous and lesser known hidden (mostly perverted) messages from some of Hollywood’s biggest films. Check it out after the jump. MORE »

Jason Segel: Muppets Canon Gets an Update
Amelia Kreminski :: Thursday, June 10th, 2010 6:00 pm
Since 1979, The Muppets have been gracing the silver screen with their fuzzy, strangely colored faces and open-mouthed grins. Come Christmas Day 2011, Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller (veterans of many Judd Apatow productions) will unveil the latest Muppet creation, a feature-length film brazenly entitled The Greatest Muppet Movie of All Time!!!. You may ask, Why another Muppet movie? Haven’t there been, like, nine or something already? The answer is yes. But this one, besides obviously being cool enough to warrant not one, but three exclamation points in the title, has some new tricks up its sleeve. MORE »

Slash’s Guitar Hero Rip-Off App
Nick Nicoludis :: Thursday, June 10th, 2010 4:30 pm
Right now there are a handful of iPhone apps connected to different musicians and bands. Both Wilco and Death Cab For Cutie provide streaming music, and an app put out by guitar-god Santana offers guitar lessons for fans. Not wanting to be left out of the app store and the money generated by useless guitar games, Slash has created his own iPhone game eerily similar to Guitar Hero. See a screenshot comparison after the jump. MORE »

John Franzese: Napping Grandpa Or Brutal Mobster?
Nick Nicoludis :: Thursday, June 10th, 2010 3:30 pm
Much like the kid who feel asleep during President Obama’s speech at his high school graduation, John (Sonny) Franzese, once the most feared underboss of the Colombo crime syndicate, is now seen more as an endearing old man than a cold-blooded killer. He was caught taking a little siesta prior to his son’s damning testimony, which painted a picture of a hardened criminal father, not the napping grandpa everyone saw in the courtroom. MORE »

Sarah Palin’s Breast Implants, I Mean Wonder Bra
Carmel Lobello :: Wednesday, June 9th, 2010 5:15 pm
I hate to spoil the fun on this one, but I think we all know the truth deep down anyway. Sarah Palin did not get breast implants. She’s always been an attractive, curvy woman—everyone was just fooled by those man-repelling firey red shoulder pads. What Sarah Palin did on Sunday is what every forty-something woman who googled “Sarah Palin Breast Implants” today should do. She wore a supportive bra. If you don’t believe me, check out this picture of Palin in college after the jump. MORE »

Lady Gaga’s ‘Alejandro’ Video - Not That Gay
Carmel Lobello :: Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 5:00 pm
Lady Gaga’s new Alejandro video is the latest proof to my theory that when Michael Jackson died his soul immediately entered hers. Set in what must be Mexico City from the future (BladeRunner style), the 8:44-long Steven Klein-directed video is pure big budget, MJ-style entertainment- raunchy, ridiculous, and elegant all at the same time. And sure, maybe slightly gay (although not nearly as much as everyone is saying). Just like MJ. Watch the video after the jump. MORE »

Vampire Weekend To Tour With Beach House, Dum Dum Girls
Gray Hurlburt :: Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 12:25 pm
This August and September will see Beach House and the Dum Dum Girls supporting Vampire Weekend, which sounds natural at this point, including three nights at Radio City Music Hall. (Man, how I’d love to catch “Master of None” in there!) Beach House have the popular notoriety these days to appeal to pedestrian music fans and sell tix, while the double-D’s, being from Los Angeles, would help to bolster Vampire Weekend’s rebranding as a California-style band. Dates after the jump.

What Will People With iPads Think Of Next?
Nick Nicoludis :: Thursday, May 6th, 2010 4:20 pm
iPads are quickly becoming less of a technological innovation to be used as a giant iPone or a tiny MacBook, and more of jack-of-all-trades device. People are taking their iPads and doing all kinds of ridiculously silly things with them. If you haven’t seen it already there were the two dudes who used the iPad for their Dj routine, and now some other random skate-bros with an iPad and apparently no regard for how much they cost, have made theirs into a skateboard; ultimately destroying it in about 3 seconds. Keeping It Classy with Conan O’Brien
Danielle Johnsen :: Monday, May 3rd, 2010 1:15 pm
One word comes to mind when I think of Conan O’Brien after the late night debacle and that’s classy. While the one-time employee of NBC had to sign a non-defamatory agreement when he left NBC this year, I would assume his discussion about his previous employers and Jay Leno would remain respectful even if he hadn’t. O’Brien sat down with Steve Kroft for an exclusive ‘exit interview’ for “60 Minutes“, which aired this past Sunday just a day after the contractual TV gag order put on O’Brien by NBC had come to an end. Brace Yourself, It’s A Banksy Tuesday!
Gray Hurlburt :: Tuesday, April 27th, 2010 5:05 pm
Sorry for a second dip into the bowl of highbrow graffiti today, but wealthy rat artist Banksy just keeps the hijinks rolling. Over the weekend, he surprised Simon Duncan, a drummer in the UK, with an extra-special delivery in a ragged white van. It consisted of a large canvas painting of the grim reaper exiting a wormhole in a bumper car. Said bumper car had the text “brace yourself” drawn over the hood. Why, you ask? Well, Duncan plays the skins for a group once called “Exit Through the Gift Shop,” the same title as Banksy’s new film, and this had to change. MORE »

Does Anyone Listen To Music At Rolling Stone?
Nick Nicoludis :: Thursday, March 18th, 2010 1:45 pm
In Rolling Stone Magazine’s latest issue, which hit stands yesterday, they outlined what they believe to be 2010’s best new bands (linked here). I was kind of appalled at their pitiful list. It contains a few good bands, but the problem is that not many of them are actually new. I don’t really get it. I mean, I understand that Rolling Stone is a big time operation, and they have their priorities and record label favors, but still, isn’t their a young intern or something there that could have atleast contributed to the list? Keep reading to see the list. MORE »

Battle I’d Pay to See: Morrissey vs Damien Hirst
Danielle Johnsen :: Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 2:39 pm
I can always get behind a bashing on Damien Hirst. Recently, Morrissey interviewed his close friend and visual artist Linder Sterling for INTERVIEW magazine and the two discussed the abhorrent usage of dead animals in Hirst’s artwork. As a fellow vegetarian, I can understand what prompted Morrissey to lash out at Hirst. MORE »
