The Countdown to Humanity Conforming To Facebook Begins

Facebook’s goal is three-pronged. First, the social-networking company would like every web page to become a Facebook page through their Open Graph. In a short time, the thought of creating a website without Open Graph will be unheard of. Second, they would like to replace algorithmic search with the social graph, which would have large implications for engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo! as well as traditional consumer news sources. Lastly, they would like your taste to become a marketing tool, which has been largely misconstrued as the death of privacy and has caused journalists at reputable media organizations to become nervous.

Don’t be nervous. Just go with the flow. And by flow I mean your lifestream, which I am willing to bet is as excruciatingly boring as mine. MORE »
