Eastbound and Down Season 2 Finally In The Works

HBO seems to finally have their act together. The hilarious Eastbound and Down starring Danny McBride as Kenny Powers, the worst role model in sports television history, is set to start production of season two in Puerto Rico next month. It’s been over a year since the finale of season one and we saw our hero quit his job as the gym teacher at Jefferson Davis Middle School and hit the open road. In season two we’re going to see Powers down in Mexico trying to rejuvenate his career, which is like bringing an alcoholic to Octoberfest.

Michael Pena and Ana de la Reguera will be joining the revamped cast for season two of Eastbound and Down. Pena, co-star of academy award winning Crash, will play Power’s friend and owner of the Mexican team he plays for. Reguera, who appeared recently in Cop Out, is set to play Power’s love interest. Hopefully McBride and co. can recapture the vulgar redneck’s self-centered hilariousness of season one.
