Everyone knows that Yeasayer‘s breakout track from their newest album is their blissfully retro, electro-pop banger “O.N.E.” It’s pretty great, and it’s a track that I might be embarrassed to get caught listening to by myself. But Diplo’s Mad Decent label and Aviary are asking if you think you could do better. I don’t know if it’s possible to make this song any catchier, but all you of dub-step djs and disco-house spinners can have your way with the song, enter, vote and possibly win some pretty sweet prizes. Remix Weezer’s “Love is the Answer”

Weezer has teamed up with Indaba Music to offer an online contest to remix “Love is the Answer” off of their latest album, Raditude. Fellow musicians and fans of Weezer can go to the Indaba Music website to work on their remixes and the public will vote on the top 10 winners. The talented winners will receive a autographed copy of Ratitude and have their work featured on both weezer.com and myspace.com/weezer. The grand prize winner will get the unique opportunity to collaborate with lead singer Rivers Cuomo to create a brand new song. The contest begins today and will submissions will continue to be accepted for the next four weeks followed by a two week voting period.
“The idea here is people do their own version of our song based on the music they are into,” explained Weezer’s Wilson. Hopefully we will get versions of the song in other languages, and in a bunch of different musical styles. It would be great if people got inspired to try new things and are really creative.”
Indaba Music offers an online set of tools for musicians to collaborate from all around the world.

Free concert, free drinks, free prizes!
Baeble Music is holding a free, hi-def screening party for a pre-recorded Passion Pit concert that took place last September in Central Park. If you need more incentive to check it out, there will also be free booze between 7:00 and 8:00. The screening will take place next Wednesday, February 10th, between 7:00 and 10:00 at Public Assembly in Williamsburg, 70 North 6th street between Wythe and Kent.
They are also giving away three Passion Pit prize packs, each with a signed vinyl of Manners and a signed poster from the Central Park concert. To enter the contest, log-in to Facebook, connect with Baeblemusic.com, and leave a comment about the concert on this page. The announcement didn’t specify what kind of comments they are looking for, but it said that winners will be announced via Facebook.
