Deer Tick Making Television Debut Tonight on Letterman

After last week’s release of The Black Dirt Rising Sessions, Deer Tick’s third album, the band will make its television debut on The Late Show with David Letterman. Letterman is such a cool guy; he’ll definitely love the band’s always-partying, dark-as-death ways! Last week, Death + Taxes interviewed the band, who had some choice things to say about doing the late-night talk-show circuit. “Apparently we’re not safe enough for television. Which I think is bullshit. I mean, think about some of the bands that have made it to TV, bands with some type of reputation. The Replacements made it to TV, Nirvana made it to TV, The Black Lips just made it TV. I think we’re pretty harmless drunks. Why can’t Deer Tick make it to TV?!” said Ian Patrick O’Neill.  “If Biden can be Vice President, Deer Tick can be on TV.” Well, as of tonight, Deer Tick and the Vice President will have their very first thing in common.

I’ll be taking bets all day as to just how visibly wasted the band will be when they perform tonight. Personally, I’m anticipating an infamous, Crispin-Glover style incident:
