For real, y'all. The Death+Taxes crew is heading down to Bonnaroo, where we will have a sponsorship tent to hand out magazines, subscriptions, and generally spread good will. We need a few good men or women to volunteer at our tent.
No heavy manual labor involved - just 3-4 hour shifts helping people sign up for subscriptions, handing out magazines and stickers, and watching over the tent. In exchange, you'll get a working access badge to the festival, and will be able to spend most of your time watching watching bands.
You'll have to handle your own travel and accommodations, but we can provide you with access to the camping section.

As if there weren't already enough great things coming out of the Dark Was The Night compilation (the bitchin' collaboration between David Byrne and Dirty Projectors, the rad concert at Radio City Music Hall) it now appears that one of the songs from the record has spawned a whole new band. "Happiness," from Sigur Ros front man Jon Thor Birgisson, has inspired a new project called Riceboy Sleeps, along with collaborator Alex Somers.
We have yet to get our hands on a copy of the self-titled debut, but if we are to believe the hype, it's "both edifying and life-affirming." Being enormous Sigur Ros fans, we're inclined to believe it. And good thing -- the Depression seems to be far from over, and we could probably all use some life-affirming tunes this summer.

Not for nothing but Grizzly Bear's "Two Weeks" (off of their latest, Veckatimest) is awesome. It's not surprising that people keep remixing it and mashing it up. Here's the latest incarnation, a video for "Two Weeks" set to footage from Albert Lamorisse's "La Ballon Rouge" (The Red Balloon). It's so cute! -SK
